day 1 :

  • Depart from Puyo by land transport, heading towards Paparahua

  • Board a motorized canoe and navigate for approximately 4 hours downriver, passing pristine jungle landscapes and spotting wildlife along the way

  • Upon arrival, enjoy a picnic lunch, set up camp in a natural area and take time to settle in

  • Cool off with a refreshing swim in the river, surrounded by peaceful jungle sounds

  • Share your first jungle dinner around a campfire

  • day 2 :

    • Begin the day with a hearty breakfast

    • Dismantle the camp and embark on a 3-hour canoe journey deeper into the forest

    • Stop along the way for a picnic-style lunch at a riverside spot

    • Before entering the deeper jungle, take part in a traditional purification ceremony to connect with nature and seek protection

    • Hike for 2 to 3 hours through dense jungle trails, learning about plants, insects, and the ecosystem with your guide

    • Arrive at a new port and set up camp

    • End the day with a hearty dinner and relaxation by the fire

    day 3 :

    • Begin with a traditional Amazonian breakfast

    • Pack up camp and ride for 1 hour by canoe to reach the Sapara community

    • Receive a special welcome and spiritual baptism, including your own Sapara name and a traditional energy cleansing ritual

    • Meet the community leader and local families to learn about their culture and values

    • Share a traditional lunch in the community’s communal house

    • Settle into a rustic but comfortable wooden cabin, take time to rest

    • Enjoy a community-prepared dinner and listen to local tales before resting.

    day 4 :

    • Start the day with breakfast and dream interpretation followed by a tobacco ceremony

    • Set off on a canoe excursion to visit the lagoon

    • Fish and observe wildlife, including monkeys, spiders, chorongos, and macaws

    • Lunch on the Pinduk Yacu river beach and some relaxation time

    • Set up camp on the beach for the night

    • Participate in arrow preparation and a discussion on hunting techniques and rituals

    • Dinner

    • Enjoy a night hike, fishing, and further wildlife observation

    day 5 :

    • Traditional jungle breakfast, followed by dream interpretation and quiet reflection

    • Head out on a hunting trek, accompanied by experienced hunters

    • Learn how to use a blowgun and prepare natural poisons used for hunting

    • Return to the camp for lunch and relaxation

    • In the afternoon, participate in a demonstration on plant medicine

    • Enjoy dinner, and conclude the evening with community elders sharing legends and sacred stories

    day 6 :

    • Begin with breakfast and dream interpretation, followed by a tobacco ritual to connect with your inner self

    • Return to the main community area for a nourishing lunch and well-deserved rest

    • Spend the afternoon engaging in traditional games with children and elders – from strategy-based games to fun physical challenges

    • Relax before dinner

    • Experience a guided presentation of the Ayahuasca preparation ceremony (no consumption), learning about the process, significance, and cultural meaning

    day 7 :

    • Breakfast with the community, followed by a dream-sharing circle and final tobacco ceremony.

    • Participate in local craft and pottery demonstrations

    • Visit the women’s artisan fair and support the preservation of ancestral knowledge through handmade crafts

    • Share lunch with the community

    • Continue games and shared time with children and elders to deepen your connection

    • Enjoy your final dinner, followed by a cultural night featuring traditional songs, dances, and farewell blessings from the Sapara

    day 8 :

    • Farewell breakfast

    • Return to Shell by plane

  • Round-trip transportation from Puyo, canoe rides, return by small plane from the community to Shell, accommodation, meals, jungle experiences, camping equipment (tent, mat, and mosquito net)

    Extra activities : ceremony with uña de gato, chuchuhuasi, pata de burro, wayusa, ayahuasca, blowgun and basket-making demonstration

    Extra camping gear : hammock with integrated mosquito net, sleeping bag (available for rent with a deposit : passport or $30)
